what if i was working on a program that i installed and the program stopped working and all my work was lost and i dont have the Time Machine set up? is there anyway i can still set my computers date/time back so i can recover the lost work

I was working on a program that i had installed on my mac after doing countless assigments, it said unexpected error and restarted the program losing all the work i had done. I didnt have my time machine turned on, is there anyway i can back my computer up to a perivous date/time so i can save my work on the program?
