How do you close an application with a Braille display?

I am using a Bluetooth Braille display with VoiceOver on an IPhone 4S running the latest version of IOS. The only command that I couldn't find was how to close an application with a Braille device. Yes, you can pres cord H twice, and then you will be in the App Switcher. Beyond this, how do I actually activate an item or close an app?
