Just bought an iPad Mini with retina display.16 GB model which for me is not enough it seems. In order to free up some space,I tried to delete photos and albums to no avail. Does anyone have a solution to this problem. The older iPads were simple to this task.Thank You for your advice. John Basso.

Did you use iTunes to put the photos onto the iPad? If so, then you have to use iTunes to take them off.
If these are photos you've saved another way simply tap on the edit word, then select the photos, then tap on the trashcan symbol to delete them.
