Q: I'm not receiving any sounds at all

I don't want to have 'silence' only while iPhone is locked, but I can't change it, the only alternative is 'Always' and i dont want that either!  How can I enable all sounds while the phone is locked?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.3

Unless the mute switch is activated on the side of the device, you should hear sounds. The other is the Do Not Disturb which you linked from. If DND is active, there will be a small crescent moon icon near the battery icon. If you go to Settings>Do Not Disturb, if Manual or Scheduled are both turned off, the settings for Always and Only while iPhone is locked do not matter.

Thank you for your help.  Didn't realise the mute switch had been turned on!!!  I thought that switch was like the one on the iPad whereby it can be used either for mute or for orientation and assumed I'd got it locked in 'Portrait' mode!
