New iPad Mini Smart Covers?

Hello,

does anybody know - What is the difference between the old and new iPad Mini Smart Covers? - Only the colour?

Or there is something new in the design or material... Or something else..

Nothing really. However, do not get the smart cover. Instead get the smart case as the smart case will provide protection for the edge of the device. The smart cover leaves the edges exposed. Dropping on a edge will likely crack the glass with the smart cover whereas the smart case will protect the edges.
