DiskMaker X will do the trick with no problems. Create your own USB thumb drive installer.

The Install OS X Mavericks.app will be in your Applications folder after it downloads, and before you use it to install Mavericks anywhere.

If you no longer have it, download it again. Copy it to any other location before actually installing Mavericks, and you can use it as often as you need to install it on as many Macs as you wish.

Did you ever get this sorted? I can't find OS X Mavericks.app in the app store...
