How do I do to share my laptop screen (MacBook Pro OS X version 10.6.8) to my newly purchased apple tv?
I can't figure out how to share my screen.
Can anybody help me?

AirPlay Mirroring needs OS X Mountain Lion or later > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404 In this case, the easiest thing you can do is to download an application like AirParrot or Beamer, which will allow you to mirror your Mac's display to the Apple TV without upgrading Mac OS X.
If you want to upgrade OS X, note that only Early 2011 and newer MacBooks Pro support AirPlay Mirrroring
