AirDrop from iPhone to iPad?

How do I share via airdrop from my iPhone to my iPad? Or the other way around? Both are ios7, both on same iCloud account (which I am guessing is my problem? I simply want to get a few video from my phone to my ipad. It shouldn't be this difficult. What am I missing?

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.4

You'll need the 4th generation ipad.

If you don't see any literature in the apple support page about using airdrop on two devices you own, then it probably means you can't do it. So yes that answer your question.

Second, I said use dropbox or email the vidoes to yourself. Or import the video to your computer and then sync it back to whatever device you want it on via itunes.

Please don't say this doesn't help or answer your question when clearly it does.

"Probably" isn't a definitive answer.

And no you didn't answer my question, you offered alternatives. I appreciate that but I am looking for a definite answer to my question. Can I share via AirDrop from my iphone to my ipad both of which are on the same iCloud account?

If you can't answer with further detail, please let someone else respond.

Thanks.

That *****. It seems to me I should be able to AirDrop a video to another device while on the same iCloud account. Photo stream handles photos very well to another device on the same iCloud account but it doesn't handle video. Apple even sells us on the face that if you take a photo on your iphone it "just shows up on your ipad, Apple TV, all your devices" provided you are on the same iCloud account. Yet with AirDrop I can't use the same iCloud account. Ugh.

Made it to the Apple Store today. They confirmed that the AirDrop feature of ios7 is NOT tied to any iCloud account. In fact you can use the AirDrop feature without even being signed into and iCloud account.

After getting AirDrop to work for me on both iPhone and iPad while signed into the same iCloud account on both, I can confirm that this in fact does work.

Yeh you're right I didn't say how. That's because it just started working. I don't know why. Anyhow the thing that puzzles me is that both phone have to be on in order for it to work. If the phone I want to send it to is off, I have to ask the person to turn their phone on in order to send it. This small inconvenience aside, it does work very well.

I'm glad your devices "just started working", but mine aren't and I still don't know what to do. My iphone can't see my ipad 3, but can see my wife's iphone and airdrop. I have changed all the settings in Airdrop to "anyone", but the ipad still doesn't show up as an options for airdropping. Also, I don't see my iphone from the ipad when trying to airdrop a picture from my ipad to the iphone, so maybe this is an issue with the iphone, not the ipad. The iphone is 5S running latest iOS 7.0.4. Any thoughts or suggestions? I know I can send the pictures through the mail or imessage, but am trying to get the Airdrop to work as it is supposed to.
