Hi i have an ipad(wifi only) and I'm wondering if there's any battery operated wifi router so that I can connect to the internet on my ipad when i

m travelling.

Check out the results of a search for battery operated wi fi routers > battery operated wi fi router

Instead of the expense of purchasing a router, use Wi-Fi hotspots. Libraries, cafes, libraries, etc.

There are iOS apps available for finding hotspots > Free WiFi Cafe Spots on the App Store on iTunes
