why is there a charge for FREE apps?
When I attempt to install a "FREE" app, I am instructed to give my payment info befre it will install, then I am not informed of the amount until it's too late. Why is there a charge for a FREE app?

There are no charges for free apps. There are often authorized holds verifying an account which are not completed and fall of without actually charging you.
