Iphone 4s cannot sync with itunes

hi, ive recently bought an iphone 4s, im failing to connect and sync with itunes, i updated to 7.0.4 and my itunes is also up to date, when i cannot my ipad mini it appears on top right next to itunes store but my iphone doesnt appear... im able to access itunes store but cant sync
