iPhoto on Mac Photo Stream thumbnails blank

Just upgraded to Mavericks and the photo stream on Mac has decided not to display the thumbnails when iPhoto > Shared > iCloud > My Photo Stream is selected. If I double click the blank thumbnail the actual photo appears.

What gives?

I've also upgraded to a new Mac and then immediately installed Mavericks so it could have been the file transfer from old Mac but then I thought Photo Stream was web based so new computer would have to look at your iCloud account and download the last 1,000 photos anyway.

iMac, it is stinky fast
