Map not showing in iPhoto 9.5/Aperture 3.5

Map not showing in iPhoto 9.5/Aperture 3.5

Hi,

Since updating to iPhoto 9.5 places maps is not showing correctly. My places (pins) are showing correctly, place searches are working and I can assign places. The issue is that the places map and photo detail maps are blank (yellow background only).

Is anyone finding the same issue?

I have tried deleting the iPhoto plist file to no effect.

iPhoto is set to automatically look up places.

I am on Mavericks.

(I am finding the same issue is in Aperture 3.5.x)

in the iPhoto preferences is look up places set to "automatically"?

Yes, it was set to automatic already.

I had also removed the plist file.

I have made no changes (just put the PB to sleep at night and woke it in the morning) and 'magically' the maps are now working both in iPhoto and Aperture.

I had a problem with my maps the last 2 days and I made several attemps to fix it, all to no avail... Today however, everything is back to normal... An issue on the server, maybe? Have you tried seeing if yours is also back to normal today?

Letty,

Yes, maps are showing now in iPhoto and Aperture. I only upgraded a few days ago so hadn't seen the Apple maps working at all.

The lack of an error and the yellow background was making me think it was a server-side issue too.
