Nov 20, 2013 12:52 PM in response to Paul H311050by LaPastenague,Use the AE (or TC whichever it is) in bridge mode.. and plug it into the BThub.
Use the AE to create a wireless network.. either with the same name and security settings as the BThub or use a different network name.. it makes no big difference.. you simply then choose the AE.. or leave the computer to pick the strongest signal with the roaming method.

Nov 20, 2013 8:16 PM in response to Paul H311050by bg3po,you can also set up the Airport extreme to extend the wireless by hitting the wireless tab in the airport menu then click the drop down menu to select extend, enter the wifi password after selecting your wifi ssid, that is if you dont want it next to the hub. If you are just trying to "improve" the wifi signal this might be your best bet as it will do just that. rather than having to wifi access points next to eachother.
quick note for your wifi the Airport extreme and your bthub share dual band technology so hook them together is not going to necessarily give you better signal ...........
*Wireless signal: the BT Home Hub 4 uses Dual Band technology which uses both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wireless bands to help avoid congestion from other wifi devices.
hope this helps

Apple's "extend" function is a proprietary setting that was designed to only work with other Apple routers.
It would be extremely unlikely that this setting would work with a BT product, or any other manufacturer's product for that matter.
But, I haven't tested this with a BT product...and I suppose anything is possible.
Still, I would be extremely surprised if this worked.
The AirPort Extreme might "join" the BT network if you try this......but the AirPort does not provide any additional wireless signal coverage when it "joins" a wireless network. In fact, it really does nothing when it "joins" a network except enable the USB port.

Nov 20, 2013 10:13 PM in response to Bob Timmonsby bg3po,i can be wrong and appologize for any confusion
although it has worked for me i can see where i am just confusing things by way of unsupported "ideas" haha
thank you for clearing that up now i have to go and put a sock in my mouth and take back other comments involving extending unsupported devices
