Q: mail does not remember my password even though put into preferences

Since installing OS10.9 Mavericks Mail asks for my password. I have gone to preferences and re-entered my password and saved it, but to no avail.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9), Asks for password each time I open

    You checked both the System Preferences>icloud AND the mail preferences to be sure you have the right account info entered?

    The password box on mail preferences will not 'hold' the entered password. As soon as I close preferences and reopen it or if I close mail and reopen it the password box is blank.  Yes I have checked system preferences and I Cloud.

    Hi, I've the same problem, after install Mavericks, Mail dont remember password account only icloud, the other email account remember perfecly password.

    in iphone and ipad is that's correct.

    I insert pw, icloud account connect, and automatically clean password.
