Frist, just try restarting the computer, if it keeps happening then try to run a disk repair and a permissions repair, if that doesnt work, then take a look at resetting you ACLs.
Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks
Disk Utility 12.x: Repair disk permissions

I restarted computer regular way and in safe mode. I deleted the .app's like you suggested, nothing happened other than error-8003. What are the ACL's? (I'm new). Isn't it funny that my CCleaner (for mac) does not work either. I get a 'unexpected shutdown'. H E L P!
What does Apple say about this??
Please read the all of resources I provided, they will walk you trhough every step. Nowhere did I ask you to remove any apps. ACLs is Access Control List, it's user level permissions, and is often the root cause for this typ of issue. I can't speak to CCleaner, as I have never used that before.
Hold down the option key and empty the Trash.
Worked brilliantly after hours of mucking around - Thank you !!🙂
