Q: My iMac is locked on a gray screen, no apple logo or anything else shown, and the Command+Control+Esc option does nothing....help!

After a recent login, my iMac 27" has locked up with a gray screen. Cursor is visible, and moves, but I cannot get anything to actually open and the login screen does not appear. I tried the command+control+esc option, in an attempt to force quit / restart, but nothing happens.

Your iMac froze. Hold the Power button until the iMac turns off, and turn it on again to see if it works correctly
