OSX 10.9 Mail clears search on refresh

This is a little intermittant. However, since the Mavericks upgrade, the searches in mail are only temporary. I enter a search term, like from:some dude, and it appropriately filters the mail. However, the next time a new mail message comes in (not sure if it is on check or receipt), the search clears. The search tag is still in the blank, but the mail is no longer filtered. Is this part of the gmail issues? Anyone else having this problem?

I'm seeing the same behavior, but it just started. Seems to be related to some kind of sync behavior. Also seemed to start at the same time my Mail starting syncing an Exchange account that hadn't been in the list of accounts previously.

Seems to reset when new mail is received and those affected have an exchange account.

FYI

Yosemite Beta 2 Does not fix this issue.

It is still refreshing and clearing search.

this issue seems to only affect exchange accounts.

I was hopeful Apple would have fixed this by now.

The only solution I have found is complete reinstall of the OS. I do not know what triggers the problem to appear and appears at random and once there can not be fixed without a full reinstall.
