Q: iPhone 5 software update 7.04 carrier problem

Has anyone experienced problems with software update 7.04 with regards to not being able to make or take calls or send/recieve texts? The carrier field is gone from settings and the phone just keeps seaching for signal but to no avail...?

I'm not able to restore the phone from backup as I just keep getting a message that I have to swich of "Find my iPhone" before being able to restore... But I can't switch it off as I get a message that a problem has occured when trying to do so...

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4

What did your phone carrier say, when you contact them about your cellular data issue?

My phone was working fine till I upgraded to iOS 7.04. Now I've lost cellular and wifi services. Tried rebooting, resetting etc. Nothing worked. Anybody out there can help?

I have heard from a few people using Rogers service in Canada having issues with LTE service after the update.  It appears that the carrier settings for them wasn't being sent properly, and when they started pushing an updated one things were getting resolved.  Perhaps you are encountering a similar issue with your carrier.  BTW, in the situation I mention with Rogeers, they deny any issues with their network, but when the carrier settings were updated, the problems went away...

GeekBoy, thank you so much for your suggestion. I called up my telco and ask them to help me reset carrier settings. They again said no setting needed for iPhone. I insisted on talking to the tech guy. Long wait for the tech guy to come on. He said to remove the SIM card, then reset network. Once phone comes back on, install SIM card and voila, suddenly everything comes back to life! Yay, my iPhone is back to its trusty old self.

Thank you for your surgestions, actually I had tried to reinsert the SIM card but to no avail.

My phone carrier supporter told me to do a restore to factory settings... I couldn't as mentioned in the original post... so I went to a tech store and had them work their magic... They restored it and now my phone is back to life... I then loaded my backup and everything is great except for the fact that I only get 150 music items on the phone and I have over 400 in iTunes... I've tried the various tricks to get them all sync'ed, but no success yet...

    Again thanks for the surgestions!
