MacBook Pro crashes when moved.

My MacBook Pro seems to crash when I move it or bump it. Whenever it starts to become really frustrating or too frequent I take it all apart and resemble it which seems to give me some relief for a short time. I am assuming it's the memory reseat that is helping the issue but I really cannot say for sure. So we are quite sure this is a hardware issue, but I have included the crash report anyway. Perhaps thre is some clue in it?

The only non stock hardware is the OWC Data Doubler and 1TB drive in place of the optical drive.

Thanks.

I am very aware of these sensors. Why would this crash the machine? What good is a protection that crashes the OS? At the ripe old age of 40 I have owned more laptops than years I have been alive and on some PC laptops I did experiments with monitoring these sensors and never once did a sudden movement cause a crash, just a pause in HD activity until the motion stops. The OS never once hiccuped.

Anyway, my primary drive hosting the OS is a SSD.

Anyway, my primary drive hosting the OS is a SSD.

You didnt mention that initially 😊

~~~Is all data during the crash running off the SSD or just the OS and its APPS?
Serial ATA Device: APPLE SSD TS128C, 121.33 GB
Serial ATA Device: Hitachi HTS541010A9E680, 1 TB
40 here as well, ....Ive owned a bit over 150 laptops (of course most were free or ones i built back from piles of parts)......[some are still at rest in the basement]
Other than the RAM slots, since you have a OWC data doubler with a nasty habit of having bad SATA cables and you have your Hitachi 1TB in the optibay..........
....have you swapped out out the SATA cable or (more easily) run the data (if any) from the Hitachi thru USB as a eliminative?
also rechecked and swapped the SATA cable on the SSD (Mac thin-flex SATA cable)
Have you verified an actual loose RAM slot, and reseated the RAM?
Nov 20, 2013 3:18 PM in response to PlotinusVeritas
The OS and all apps run off of the SSD, but almost all other bulk storage for things like iTunes and Dropbox resides on the 1TB drive. Load doesn't seem to corelate to the issue either, sometimes it happens right after a fresh boot.
I'll look into the connection on the data doubler.
Yes I have reseated the memory many times and as I stated in the original post is seems to help. They don't seem to have exessive movement but I don't imagine it takes much to cause an issue. I may do a deoxit treatment and try to add a few drops of hot glue to hold them more snug.
I am very disapointed by the quality of the clips that hold the memory in place. that's some serious crap for such a costly piece of hardware.
Nov 20, 2013 3:24 PM in response to Teknishun
Ive replaced a lot of RAM on macbook, those clips have a death grip on holding RAM,....too much for what Im used to.
Your indications are likely you have a broken solder connection under on the RAM slots, however thats absurdly rare.
luckily .....faults that can be duplicated from physical movement are easy to diagnose (if you have the Mac in front of you,....which you DO,....and I DONT) 😊
