Why can't I delete rented movies on my ipad after watching?
I've watched the movie I'm done with it and it's still there taking up space. I want it off my ipad!

What's in this link may be things you've tried
Delete music, movies, and TV shows from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
It does say that they will be auto deleted at the end of the rental period?
Did you ever figure out how to remove your expired rental? I have the same problem and have tried everything with no luck. It is taking up tons of space and I can't figure out how to get it off of my device.
I don't rent movies but try
Settings
General
Storage and iCloud usage
Manage storage (there are two of these, one for on the device one for in the cloud, choose on your device)
TV - movies are in the tv app now I believe
wait for it to populate and if you see. your rental, tap on the edit button on the upper right and delete it.
Thanks so much for your quick reply. The Storage area does not show the rental, so I can't delete it from there. It does not appear anywhere on my iPad. The only place that I can see it is when I hook my iPad up to my desktop. In the "storage bar" at the bottom, it shows one video is on the device, using 4.75 GB of memory, and when I select the "Rentals" area of "On My Device," the movie is displayed but I cannot delete it.
Try disconnecting from WiFi, force restart your iPad, connect to WiFi again after the iPad starts up, and see if the movie is gone. To force restart your device, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Because the rented movie is not on your iCloud or iPad.
Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Videos>Check if movie is still taking up space.
I have this problem too. It is not taking up storage space on my iPad, but the movie is showing up in my Video app on my iPad. How do I get rid of the icon? It is cluttering things up.
I was able to remove the expired movie by repeatedly pressing on the play button and the icloud symbol to download or play the expired movie. Itunes asked a few times for my username/password and after a few attempts at persistent pressing of the try to play or download the expired movie and being challenged a few times for my iTunes credentials, the movie cleared from my iCloud movies and the Rentals option disappeared from my iPad. Hopefully some of this persistent approach forces the cache on your device to sync up with iTunes and clears the expired movie for you. Good luck!
Any updates to these suggestions? I can not remove a rented movie that expired a month ago. It is taking up so much space I can't do anything else with my iPad.
Yes - it was supposed to auto delete and we watched it ages ago.
Thanks for your reply. Tried the above suggestion and it it still there. So frustrating!
Hi
They should be automatically deleted after watching with in 48 hours
Purchased movies will not.
Cheers
