Trying to update my mac?

Hi All,

My Mac needs lots of updates for example, safari, java, printer etc etc.. I go into my software updates and click update and restart all (I've also tried to update individually) The process stars but gets 'stuck' on my restart background thing and does nothing and eventually just turns off!! Why is this?

Thanks,

Bethan

Better check the startup disk. It may need repairing.

Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utillities

Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.

Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)

If DU reports errors, start up from your Mac install disc to make repairs.
