Q: Can I move part of a Time Machine for my Macbook to an iMac?

I just spilled water on my Macbook. I was wondering if I can move some of my Time Machine files to my Imac which uses 10.7.5. The Macbook pro had Mavericks

You can move the files, but they won't be accessible to Time Machine itself. You'll have to manually cherry pick the data out.
