Apple ID and Password

Hi

Every time I try to download anything I get so far and then it asks me to enter my Apple ID and password. I enter the correct details (the ones I've used to log onto this site) and I have already tried changing my password and recieved email confirmation of this and yet it does not recognise me or let me log in so I can't do anything. I am new to Apple macs but getting very frustrated with this. Help!

Thanks

Are you certain that whatever you've downloaded is asking for your Apple ID and password and not your user name and password? Try the latter (must be on an admin account to install new software). The only place where you should be asked for your Apple ID and password is when downloading/purchasing in the Mac App Store.

Try it and see...

Hi Clinton

Thanks for responding. It could be the latter. I'm just trying to get flash player at the mo. It comes up with 'type password to allow this' and in the Name box it is pre-populated 'Apple' and just has the password box blank so I'm not sure if I just leave the Apple bit and put my password in or what. I may try changing my password on the admin Users and groups system and try it again.

Hopeless at this really!

Cheers
