Rounding to Lower Integer

Is there a function in numbers to round down to the next lower integer?

ex:

you multiply an odd number times .50, say 7 x .50 and it returns 3.50 and you always want it rounded down to the next lower integer, in this case 3

Would you happen to be fluent in Applescript?

"Fluent" is a relative word! I know enough to make it do some useful things. Others here can make it sing!

If you have an AppleScript issue related to this thread, pose the question here and we can all try to help.

If it's not related to this thread, maybe you could start a new question.

Iwill start a new thread, thanks for the help. I am managing to work around a bit in Numbers but have no knowledge in Applescript. I had worked previously in XL but nothinbg to no with VBA. I posted my issue/question on an XL forum and got feedback along with a routine. I would need a person that could relate the VBA code to Applescript.

Ok. In case you're not aware, the old Numbers 2.3 had modest support for AppleScript, enough to be suprisingly useful. Numbers 3.0 is limited to so-called GUI-scripting, meaning you can have AppleScript access the menu and clipboard. Useful things are possible with that, but nothing like VBA. Yet. Apple released a support document indicating that AppleScript support will be coming to Numbers 3.
