iauthor and table of contents

I am using Mavericks on an imac and having prepared a book with chapters and sections.

I have a quesiton:

1. When I look at the Table of Contents, I see only Chapter 1 with sections (with dots at the bottom for the next page of the TOC). Cannot all chapters appear on the first page where space allows?

Thanks,

GH

What you describe seems to be the standards TOC layout. The "dots at the bottom" are indicators of all your content and use the slider to view each page.

You have to consider that while you may have space available on page 1.. others may have 10 sections in each Chapter... therefore there will be a list displayed to fill the TOC page.

Those reading the book and using the TOC to navigate, can slide to select first the Chapter page.. and from the sublist of sections.. chose as they please.

I was just checking because there is iAuthor which is different from iBooks Author, just wanted to be sure which you used because iBooks on Mac and iPad will not show ePubs from NONE iBooks Author made books with the thumbnail navigation, at least none that I have tried/seen will.

iBooks Author is basically an hybrid of an ePub and and an app.
