My Disk Utility says my disk cannot be repaired and that I should replace it. What is the cheapest way to do this?

Those guides are excellent.
But it seems all about removing the drive and then installed new drive and the OS X. I haven't found one that how to keep the existing OS X and software and files. Do people clone the old drive (assume it's not corrupted) and then reinstall it? Do people encounter license issue if he use a brand new drive?
Yes, most users tend to have a bootable clone and periodically update the clone. That is in addition to a backup like TimeMachine.
Licence issue are dependent upon how the app locks the app to the computer. Some use identifiers on the logic board but that would not change.
