Will I still recieve texts messages while my phone is dead?

When my phone would die back when I had iOS 6, I would charge it when I got home and I would recieve the texts I missed while my phone was off.

Now, that I have iOS 7, my phone completely died a few days ago and when I went to charge it I had no texts. I know my friend sent me some.

She screencaped what she sent me, so long story short, I never recieved them.

Is it a glitch in the iOS? This is a big problem because sometimes I have to turn my phone off. I just don't want to miss any important messages.

I have an iPhone 4.

iPhone 4 (8GB), iOS 7.0.4

Here may be you are referring to iMessage!!

There was a problem with newer version of iOS 7.

They have fixed the issue recently from iOS 7.0.3 ownwards.

Kindly update you phone to latest version iOS 7.0.4, hope this may solve your problem related to iMessage..

It has to do with both regular SMS and iMessage. I JUST had my phone off for a few days and I didn't recieve anything. People have told me they sent me things because they'd messaged me on other social networking asking why I haven't replied to their messages.

Like I said, if my phone was dead for a few hours on iOS 6, when I would turn my phone back on, I would get all my messages that people sent me during that time. Now, it's like I have to have my phone on 24/7 so I know I don't miss anything important. So I'm asking, is this a glitch or just a thing that's going to happen all the time now.

I just checked this with my iPhone 5, with Verizon. I turned airplane mode on, sent a text from another phone, waited about 30 minutes, turned airplane mode off and received the text shortly after. You may need to check with your provider and find out what their system does with text messages that cannot be delivered. Does your provider wait 1 hour, 2 hours or a day before discarding the text message.
