I am still running snow leopard on a late 2006 macbook pro. Upgrade to mountain lion?

My macbook pro with:

15.4-inch: 2.16GHz(MA609LL)15.4-inch: 2.33GHz(MA610LL)17-inch: 2.33GHz(MA611LL/A)
Display15.4-inch (diagonal), 1440 x 900 resolution, TFT widescreen17-inch (diagonal), 1680 x 1050 resolution, TFT widescreen
Processor2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory1GB (single SO-DIMM) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300)2GB (two SO-DIMMs) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300)

I use it for Photoshop and Lightroom and I have upgraded to Lightroom 5 to find I need 10.7 or later.

I have not upgraded inthe past because snow leopard has worked well and the release after that got bad revues.. I hear the same about mavericks so wonder about upgrading to Mountain Lion.

Your experiences please..
