"Word Count" is always in the way

Note for Apple:

Letting users move the "Word Count" window around the document is cute, but, useless, and not allowing users to put that window out of the way constitutes a problem. For a person who wants constant access to a document's word count while writing, this little window keeps getting in the way.

If, for instance, you leave the window in default position at the bottom of the page, and then you insert a footnote in your document, you find yourself reaching away from your keyboard to move the word count box out of the way so you can see the footnote you are composing (or to scroll the page up far enough to move the incomplete footnote out from under the word count window). Next thing you know, you've finished the footnote and have returned to the main text of the document, only to find that the word count window you moved from the bottom of the page so as to compose a footnote is now, again, in the way of what you are writing.

Please, Apple, put "Word Count" in the Format sidebar or somewhere else away from the document.

For everyone else: if there's a way to keep "Word Count" visible, but to get it into a sidebar, or, at least, off the document, do let me know.
