How do I remove the grid pattern on my ipod 5th gen camera?

After updating my IPOD 5th Gen to to latest version I noticed that the camera always has a light grid pattern across the camera screen. This wasn't there before, and I assume that I have somehow changed a setting. Any suggestions? Also how do I transfer a 6 minute video from my IPOS to my computer & then to a DVR/dvd? It is a gift to a friend and i don't want to just email the video to them. Thanks for any and all help! Debbie G.
