Q: how do you airdrop from your mac to your iPad

My macbook pro does not see my ipad as an airdrop recipient why? I am missing the whole point of airdrop? Is there an easier way to do this. Texting or emailing myself is NOT the solution.

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Currently there is no way to AirDrop between iMac and iDevice like iPad.

Dropbox is a good alternative.

Hmmm, no edit. As noted in the article, you can't airdrop between IOS and devices and Mac
And yes, Box or Dropbox is a better solution.
