Q: My Airport Extreme base station is working fine, but I can't find anything anywhere on my computer that'll allow me to open it up to change a password. All Airport Utility does is search for non-existent wireless devices.

If you are using a PC, the Windows firewall, anti-virus, or Microsoft Security Essentials (if you have it installed) is likely blocking the connection from your PC to the AirPort Extreme.
You will have to get into the settings for each of these applications to check on blocked connections and then "allow" an "exception" so that the connection will occur.
You might have better luck if you connect your PC directly to a LAN <-> port on the AirPort Extreme using an Ethernet cable.
Once you get the connection working on AirPort Utility, click on the AirPort Extreme then click Manual Setup.
Click the Wireless tab located below the row of icons to reveal the wireless settings. Change the password and verify here, then click Update to save the new settings.
