We recently set student iPads using apple configurator and profile manager. Students were sent an email inviting them to enroll. Some students needed to create a new apple id. Since the apple id was never used in the itunes store they were prompted to update the information. It would not let them complete the process without entering credit card information. There was no choice for "none", just credit cards. Is there a way around this?

It's possible. You select a free app to download. It will then give you the option to "pay" without a credit card.

I tried that. It took me to the same screen to add credit card info. Still no option for "none". I know that was an option before. Not sure why it changed or how to get around it.
