Q: My new RAM doesn't work in my iMAC.

I bought 1067 DDR3 RAM, 2 4GB cards, for my iMAC.  But I'm getting the beeps.  I bought my RAM through NEWEGG and even states works with iMAC.  I am sure I read my iMAC can handle 8GB of RAM but I'm not sure why else I would be getting the beeps. thoughts

iPhoto '08, Mac OS X (10.7.5), I have iLife.

They generally mean the RAM is bad or you have a defective slot(s) or you may have damaged a slot when installing the RAM.

I would return the RAM to NewEgg. They are not the best source for compatible RAM. Try buying from:OWC, DataMem or Crucial.

I cannot verify what RAM your computer uses without knowing exactly what model it is or the model identifier from System Profiler.

I was wondering if that was the issue, I put the old ram back in and no issues.  I'm noticing different suggestions in regards to the type of ram.  I will try what you suggest.  Thank you.
