I'm trying to understand the difference between using Font Libraries or Font Collections
in Font Book app. The only difference I found is the ability to drag and drop fonts into
Font Libraries. I'm sure I'm missing other differences. Please advise.

A Font Collection is the original method of adding fonts to Font Book. When you add fonts, they are all copied from whatever the source drive is to the Fonts folder in your user account (the default location).
A Font Library activates fonts "in place". Meaning, they aren't copied anywhere, but are managed from wherever they currently reside.
