The update was not successful
Hi all,
I have a US Apple TV (model MD199LL/A) and I currently live in the UK. My software version is 5.2 (6010.96).
I'm having issues with my Apple TV in that it won't really do anything. It won't mirror, connect to iTunes, rentals update, etc.
When I try and update, it says "The update was not successful" and "the Apple TV uodate could not be downloaded at this time. Try again later". When I try and mirror, the option won't even show up on my airplay for any of my devices. Rentals just looks like it's trying to load.
I've tried resetting, changing the DNS, unplugged and replugged, rebooted my wifi and ensured that we're on the same network. Yet, I get nothing. Could someone please help!
The only thing that I can think of is that when logging on to the network with any device, there is a proxy server that prompts and automatically opens your web browser requiring a password. When logging on to the network with Apple TV, no such thing happens as it doesn't have a browser feature. Would this happen to have anything to do with my problem?
Any help would be appreciated.
