my mac book pro mid 2010 edition will not let me burn dvds. i think they are burning as data disks

im assuming that i am burning the dvds wrong but when i burn the dvds from itunes they arent burning as dvds. i think they are burning as data disk. can anyone help me?

What type of DVDs are you trying to burn?

What are you trying to burn? As far as I know, iTunes only burn music CDs. Check iTunes CD settings in Preferences>General

For DVD settings go to System Preferences>CDs & DVDs

Use iDVD.

IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40. (works with all Mac OS 10.5 and newer.)
