Nov 23, 2013 6:11 PM in response to Kappyby pakayhall,i wasn't sure how much to say. I used a memorex dual layer DVD+R. (Had no idea they were read only.) I was sent to a help page that walked me through the i-mac utilities. Each time I thought I was making a copy. It appeared to copy my DVD to the computer. I put in a new disc as suggested. Everything looked like it was going to copy. until the final moment and only then did it say there was an error. ( at the end) I'm without a suggestion as to what might be a solution....
( Don't know if this matters...it's a DVD + R dual layer)

How to Copy Previously Burned DVD-R Video Discs
You may need to first create a disc image of the disc you want to copy on your HDD using Disk Utility. Then burn the disc image to the DVD-R media.
Use the Help menu for the Finder and in Disk Utility for assistance with copying a DVD to another DVD.
