Unfortunately, the only way to mirror a MacBook Pro to a TV is by using an Apple TV and AirPlay Mirroring > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404 This requires an Early 2011 or newer MacBook Pro and OS X Mountain Lion or newer.

As you have got a Smart TV, I suppose it has got HDMI ports, so what you can do is to get a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and a HDMI cable to connect the MacBook Pro to the TV, so image will show up on your TV. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4241?viewlocale=en_US

If you have got a MacBook Pro with Retina display, you only need the HDMI cable

Yes by connecting from the Mac to the TV with an HDMI cable. To do that, depending on the Mac you have, you will need either just a HDMI cable or a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter and a HDMI cable.

Once you have it all connected, HDMI output or TB to HDMI adapter on the Mac to the HDMI cable and then to the TV, go into System Preferences, Displays and hold down the Option key and a Detect Displays button will appear. Click that if you don't get any signal on the TV. Then there is also a button to Mirror the Displays which make both of them the same.
