Ipod touch. under warranty? dock port/connector

Hi, first off thanks for whoever helped me!!! and now for my question, so i have an apple ipod touch 4th generation, and it is still under the 12 month free warranty from apple. The problem with it is the dock connector/port where it plugs in to charge, ya well some of those gold bars are missing or bent, will Apple fix my ipod touch free under warranty? if so where can i take it to be repaired? And if not how much would it cost to repair, or can i repair this myself? thanks in advance! 🙂 🙂🙂 🙂 🙂

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store and find out. Sometimes it is due to operator error and is thus not covered by the warranty..

Yes. You can BUT, you will void you warrenty. I would recommend getting it checked out by Genius Bar. http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/

You really can't repair/replace the dock connector without special equipment. The connector is soldered in and has 30 soldered joints and it is very hard to unsolder them all at the same time so that you can remove the old conector..

There are too many soldered connections that have to be unsoldered at the same time to remove the old connector, ALso, y risk damaging the circuit board by applient to much head to unsoler the connections. Figures 10 amd 11 show the connector

Because its already broke to the point it won't show that IT NEEDS to be charged! And i chargedit for 7 days and 12 hours!
