I am using Mac Book Pro with retina display OS X Mavericks 10.9(Processor: 2.3 GHz, Intel core i7, Memory: 8 GB 1600MHz DDR3). In one project, approximately upto how many GB of HD content can the FCP X take the load without the color wheel indication of hang-up? Can I go upto 100 GB of HD content to work smoothly? Thanks.

Do you mean the size of the video file? If so it doesn't matter how big the file is.
More important is the bit rate of the file. for example, 10bit un-compressed files have a bit rate of approximately 1Gbs. That's too much for an individual drive. You need a RAID to play it out smoothly.
The specification of my video is
VBR, maximum bit rate: 35 Mb/s, MPEG-2 MP@HL
MPEG-2? Where'd this come from? What's the codec? Open the file in the QuickTime player and post a screen shot of the inspector.
That sounds like the spec for an XDCAM HD or EX.
What is the the extension .mxf?
You may need a plugin to work with it.

In spite of the huge size of the video, can it work smooth in FCP X without hang-up OR what factors of my specification could limit the smooth working.
Or will it be required to change my machine to a higher one like Mac Pro the one which is going to release by DEC to make it work smooth?

Suggestion: Download the 30 trial and find out first hand.
Limitations on processing your big clip are goingto be more a function of your hardware than FCPX.

The size of the file is irrelevant assuming you have drive space.That bit rate is not very high. Your Mac should have no probelm play that file.
