Why is it that Mavericks is the first version I have ever seen that does not darken the column header when that column is selected in a Finder window?
I've been using Macs since the mid-90s and this has always been standard.
So I never know which column is selected unless I spend the time to look at each column for a few seconds.
This is a real PIT@
Anyone have a fix for this?

You are apparently referring to list view. I did not notice that change.
I don't think there is a setting for this.
You might like column view better.

The more people who write in about a particular thing, the more likely (perhaps) Apple will be to change it.

About as 'obvious' as the new Tag's dot and the almost non-existent column dividers in List view.
Apple's taking the minimal look too far when it slows your workflow.
