USB ports not working

USB ports don't work. Nothing plugged into them registers. SMC and PRAM resets do no good. Apple Hardware Test reveals no problems. Only noticed since Mavericks. I've also experienced the random log out twice. I've spilled a drink on/near it while it was closed before, but I did a full functionality test after I dried it off and everything worked.

I think under the circumstances your best bet is to take in in and have it diagnosed. Accidental damage/liquid damage is not covered under warranty, but a place to start the process.
