Why doesn't my iPod notify things anymore ?

My iPod recently stopped notifying me things . I turned off the wifi for the night and in the morning it stopped working . I updated to iOS 615 to see if it would work but nothing . Turned off & on , checked the notifications settings but nothing seems to work . Please help .
