My IPod stops playing music when the screen goes from dim to dark

Can any one help me with this issue. My IPOd nano (6th) has been giving my problems. When the screen goes from dim to dark the music stops playing, i tried pushing the cord into the headphone jack but I'm wondering if this is an hardwear issue, because I have reformated and refreshed the whole ipod a few times. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi, Had the same issue with my nano. I read some forms and it seems to be an issue with dirt, fuzz or stuff in the headphone jack. After reviewing a video on you tube, i used a needle to gently scrape/ clean the inside of my headphone jack. I did not get any fuzz out as shown in the video. Then is dipped the needle in minimal amount of isopropyl alcohol ( it contains water so don't go crazy- if little is good dont use alot). I also cleaned my headphone plug with isopropyl alcohol. AND.... my nano now works!!!. just make sure the headphones are inserted fully into the jack. Good Luck.
