Email ending "@me.com"

I had an email ending "@me.com" on my iPad 2 which is upgraded with the latest patches to iOS 7 but my email address has completely disappeared. Can anyone tell me if I can resurrect my address @me.com as I have given it out and a test email to it has failed to arrive? Thank you in advance

The actual cause was in Mail, Contacts, Calendars first page where Mail was switched off. This seemed to allow all my other email accounts like Outlook, Yahoo etc to feed in emails but none had come from Me.com. As soon as I switched Mail on, 280 emails flowed in.
