Q: This message has not been downloaded from the server.

Hi,

As a company we have recently moved from BlackBerry to iPhone 5s. I have a user, who whilst travelling on the Underground, obviously didn't receive any email. When he leaves the Underground it should have pushed the email to the device but it didn't.

I did a search on the device, but it obviously does a server search, and found the message with the error in the body of the email " This message has not been downloaded from the server".

The only way I could get it to download the meassages was to put the Mail Days to Sync to 1 Day from 2 Weeks, go into Mail, let it download the messages, go back to Mail Days to Sync and reset it back to 2 Weeks and hey presto it downloaded all messages from the past weeks including the ones that were lost.

Does anyone know of a resolution for this problem so that it just downloads the messages without having to go through all of that again>

Thanks

Stevie

I am having the same issues.

It appears that since iOS 9.1 was installed on my iPad Air 2, the Mail app is not actually copying the content of messages that it gets from one's E-mail server. I get my E-mail from Verizon.  It used to be that my iPad would get copies of the messages from Verizon's server and retain them until I manually deleted them.  I liked that. Now, it appears that once my desktop computer retrieves my E-mail which signals Verizon to delete them from the server, my iPad loses the content of the messages resulting in the evil notice "THIS MESSAGE HAS NOT BEEN DOWNLOADED FROM THE SERVER".  Please correct iOS 9 and the Mail app to behave the way it used to.  The MAIL app is almost useless now.  Change for change's sake is not appropriate.  If it ain't broken, don't fix it!

I too have just upgraded to 9.1 from 8.x and my emails are doing the same thing. I run my business from my phone so these disappearing emails are messing up my business. Are Apple aware of this problem and is there a fix on its way?

HI, sorry to intrude like this. Fyi there was no error in the message body, the iphone supports says so but its a bulshit. all messages with attacments and tabs cannot be downloaded! This support inquiry exists for years and they just drop it back! We recently moved from iphone to samsung and solved our problems! Good luck
