Garageband 10.0.1 New track with duplicate settings is not allowing effects in

When I use the "New track with duplicate setting"

It will not allow effects on that new track that was created.

If I just create a new track with the + button it is fine.

The problem is I have already recorded all the tracks and the artists have all gone home.

Anyone know of a work around till this gets fixed?

I'm having a very similar problem. I tried doing the work-around by changing the patch and then changing it back but it didn't work. Here is a video where you can see my smart control settings reset to default for no reason during playback. It happens twice and then I try to load a saved amp setting which then also resets. Please help, this is infuriating. Here is a screen recording of it happening: https://vimeo.com/197862890

Thanks for the video.

And that is exactly why I chose to duplicate the track.

I wanted the same settings but not the music.

I was recording another part with the same settings.

This is the correct way to do that right?

I believe it's a bug with the new GB 10.0.01

Cause I did this all the time with the previous version.

But I thought maybe I was just doing wrong.

So I came here.

yes, you're trying to do exactly what you should be doing, so now it's time to get to your original problem.

perhaps you can explain in detail what you do, and exactly what happens/what you see/what doesn't work.

i finally had a chance to get on a 10.9 machine and tried duplicating a track in GBv10, it worked exactly as expected here; recreating the effect settings i had, and allowing me to change them as desired

Ok,

I did a stereo multi track recording of a guitar and vocals at the same time using 2 apogee MiCs

this worked great. (via agregete device settings)

Then I wanted a stereo recording of a cajon so I created duplicate tracks from track 1 &2 and continued to record the cajon. And this is where I noticed I couldn't use the effects. (Reverb is all I tried)

And I figured... eh don't worry about it now fix it later...

And well it's later and for the life of me I can't get it to work...

Let me know if I explained this ok....

again Thanks for the help

ok, let's start from when I created the duplicate tracks of both Track 1 and 2... then I record track 3 and 4 (at the same time). Then I went into Smart Controls, and turned the Reverb knob up on Track 3 and it moved but there was no change in the sound and when I clicked on Track 4, I saw the Reverb knob revert back to zero. I clicked back on Track 3 and the Reverb knob showed back on zero when I earlier turned it up.

Thanks Lianel for replying,

Hey Apple folks,

How long till the next update that may fix this issue?

Is this the way it is with Logic Pro X as well?

I am starting to think real hard about purchasing LPX...

But I don't want to heavily invest into a DAW to have seemingly ignored issues like this since back in 2013 of November.

Feeling forgotten about here.

Ive had phone updates, bug fixes and Mac updates but nothing that improves this problem.
