Missing emails in Mavericks mail app

Hi guys

yes it's another complaint to Mavericks mail app. I had an email randomly disapeer in my inbox. this is for my Outlook/hotmail/live mail using the new IMAP settigns that microsoft posted a few months back. Not only has the message disapeared on me in my mail app inbox but it's also synced with my web mail!!! the one time microsofts IMAP actually works for me!!! Are Apple looking into this?? or are they just focusing on Gmail?

help would be great if anyone knows how to recover it. or will i just have to wait for it to right itself

also I've checked all sub folders, junk and trash and all other email accounts on the app...no luck 😟

Did you check the Archive-folder? Are the lost mails in there? I had this problem also - it was solved with the recent Mavericks update

there is no archive folder...and i think archiving is a gmail thing not hotmail

In the Maverick mail app, there is a new folder below the 'trash' folder - Archives. I found my lost emails there.

But: best solution is to do an update of Mavericks - via the App Store. My problems with lost mails dissapeared after that update

that wasnt there on mine. I've just activated it fro the "customize toolbar" somehow and all it's done is copy 2 of my mail account inboxes....this I do not need

Yeah, well that is what it does. It just copies the inboxes.... As if we needed that! Did you try to stop mail and restart it?

yeah I've closed mail a few times and re opened it. I'll try do a full reset of my macbook.

still nothing after reset. no updates either but i do know theres one due hopefully next month as they just seeded an osx mavericks.1to apple staff. it was on 9to5 mac like last week

Restore Mailboxes and their Content

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

Did you get this (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6030) update? I got it on 9 November and solved my 'missing mails' problem. Go to the App Store, click updates. Then you'll see a list of recent updates.

yes i already have that update and that supposedly fixes problems with gmail. this is not a gmail problem this is a hotmail IMAP problem.

My emails have not dissapeared, but suddenly all of the Header information (To: From: Bcc: etc) have disappeared. The show up when you move the cursor over the location, but disappear after. Some of them are still "selectable" and some are not. This has happened one week after installing Mavericks, with all of the current updates. I have gone into the Preferences: viewing, but no options there about this. Any solution?

I have random disappearing mails as well. Everything is updated though. That is a bit scary.

Okay now I'm getting rather frequent account dissconections from outlook/hotmail doesn't happen that often with Gmail but I get like arund 3 or 4 in the space of a half an hour! 😟
